Lady Gaga’s avant-garde pop masterpiece with one of the most iconic music videos of all time, featuring Alexander McQueen fashion and the unforgettable “rah rah ah-ah-ah” hook.

The Video

Directed by Francis Lawrence, the “Bad Romance” video premiered October 2009 and became a cultural phenomenon. Gaga’s white contact lenses, sculptural costumes, and choreography (including the monster claw dance) were endlessly referenced and parodied.

The video won seven MTV Video Music Awards in 2010, including Video of the Year. It surpassed 1 billion YouTube views and showcased Gaga’s commitment to fashion-as-art, wearing pieces from Alexander McQueen, Thierry Mugler, and Armani Privé.

Commercial Success

“Bad Romance” topped charts in 20+ countries, sold over 12 million copies worldwide, and earned Grammy nominations for Record and Song of the Year. The song’s bridge (“I want your love and I want your revenge”) became a fan favorite moment at concerts.

The track cemented Gaga’s status as pop’s most daring artist, proving that experimental visuals and unconventional fashion could coexist with mainstream success.
