Chopped premiered on Food Network in January 2009, becoming the network’s longest-running competition (50+ seasons, 600+ episodes). Four chefs compete using mystery basket ingredients, one eliminated per round. Host Ted Allen delivers eliminations: “You’ve been chopped.”

Format

Rounds: Appetizer ($10K), Entrée ($10K), Dessert ($10K total prize). Judges (Marc Murphy, Amanda Freitag, Chris Santos, rotating) critique based on taste, creativity, presentation. Mystery baskets contain 4 ingredients (often bizarre): gummy bears, durian fruit, canned haggis.
