Chrome RAM Usage became long-running meme about Google Chrome’s memory consumption, spawning jokes about needing 32GB RAM to open tabs. While Chrome’s process-per-tab architecture improved security/stability, it consumed resources aggressively. Competitors mocked it (Edge ads, Firefox campaigns), users complained, but Chrome’s sync and extension ecosystem kept 65%+ market share. RAM cheap; switching browsers wasn’t.
