#FamilyMatters

Drake’s multi-part diss attempting to flip the narrative.

Origin & Impact

Drake’s “Family Matters” was a seven-minute, multi-beat diss track with an elaborate music video filmed at his Toronto mansion, attacking Kendrick, Rick Ross, The Weeknd, and Metro Boomin. The track made serious allegations about Kendrick’s relationship and family, trying to match the personal nature of Kendrick’s attacks.

Unfortunately for Drake, “Meet the Grahams” dropped less than an hour later, completely overshadowing his release. The timing made Drake look reactive rather than proactive, and critics felt the track lacked the focused fury of Kendrick’s work. It became emblematic of Drake losing the beef’s momentum.
