French Electro Prodigy
#MadeonAdventure celebrates Hugo Leclercq’s debut album Adventure (March 2015), a euphoric journey through French electro-pop that showcased the 21-year-old’s production mastery and cemented his status as Porter Robinson’s creative equal.
Pop Culture & You’re On Era
Madeon broke through with “Pop Culture” mashup (2011, age 17), seamlessly blending 39 pop songs in 3.5 minutes. His 2012 collaboration with Lazy Rich, “The City,” and features on Ellie Goulding’s “Stay Awake” built anticipation for Adventure.
Lead single “You’re On” (feat. Kyan, 2014) and “Imperium” showcased his signature anime-influenced visuals and maximalist production.
Adventure Album & Shelter Tour
Adventure featured vocals from Passion Pit, Kyan, and Aquilo, blending French house, J-pop, and indie electronica. Singles “Pay No Mind” (feat. Passion Pit), “Nonsense,” and “La Lune” displayed his range from club bangers to introspective ballads.
The “Adventure Live” tour (2015-2016) featured custom button/pad controller (“Launchpad Pro controller”) allowing real-time remixing and improvisation.
His 2016-2017 “Shelter Live Tour” with Porter Robinson sold out arenas globally and featured synchronized anime visuals telling a sci-fi love story.
Good Faith & Return
After 4-year hiatus, Good Faith (2019) marked artistic evolution toward live instrumentation, French house influences, and existential themes. Singles “All My Friends,” “Dream Dream Dream,” and “Be Fine” showcased newfound vulnerability.
