0-60 in 2.4 seconds (Turbo S), 200+ mph top speed, Nürburgring lap record for EVs. Automotive media praised it: “Drives like a Porsche, happens to be electric.” Handling, steering feel matched 911 heritage.

800V Architecture

Range Reality Check

EPA rating: 200-227 miles (Turbo/Turbo S). Tesla Model S Long Range: 405 miles. Porsche argued real-world highway driving closer due to conservative EPA testing, but range anxiety persisted.

Porsche buyers less concerned - most owned multiple cars, used Taycan for daily driving and weekend fun, not road trips. Wealth insulated from range compromise.

Mission E Concept Realized

Unveiled as Mission E concept (2015 Frankfurt Auto Show). Took 4 years to production - typical legacy auto timeline vs. Tesla’s startup agility.
