#PushUps
Drake’s response track that escalated the Kendrick beef.
Origin & Impact
Drake’s “Push Ups” and particularly “Taylor Made Freestyle” (which controversially used AI-generated vocals of Tupac and Snoop Dogg) escalated his beef with Kendrick Lamar to new levels. The tracks mocked Kendrick’s height, took shots at his collaborators, and tried to bait him into responding.
The AI Tupac usage resulted in legal threats and Drake removing the track, but not before it sparked intense debates about AI in music, respecting deceased artists, and whether Drake was desperate. While “Push Ups” had strong moments, the overall response was seen as falling short of Kendrick’s eventual replies.
