Trap Music Architect
#RLGrimeNOVA documents Los Angeles producer Henry Steinway’s sophomore album NOVA (July 2018), which elevated trap music from festival filler to artistic statement and showcased collaborations with Miguel, Julia Michaels, and Boys Noize.
Void to NOVA Evolution
Debut album Void (2014) established RL Grime’s cinematic trap sound with hits “Core” (200+ million Spotify streams) and “Scylla.” The album bridged underground bass music and mainstream festival culture.
NOVA refined his production with orchestral elements, hip-hop vocal features (Miguel on “Stay For It,” Jeremih on “Undo”), and emotional depth. Lead single “UCLA” became festival anthem, while “I Wanna Know” (feat. Daya) crossed to radio.
Halloween Mixes Legacy
RL Grime’s annual Halloween mixes (2011-present) became electronic music’s most anticipated release each October. Each 30-60 minute mix features unreleased IDs, mashups, and genre-blending transitions that showcase cutting-edge trap, bass, and hip-hop production.
Halloween VIII (2018) premiered during NOVA tour and included “Era” ID that became festival staple.
Live Show Evolution
“NOVA Experience” tour (2018-2019) featured custom LED cube stage production, live drumming segments, and visual storytelling. His Coachella 2019 and Hard Summer sets pioneered “trap symphony” aesthetic.
