#SwatchAP is the hashtag for the Audemars Piguet × Swatch Royal Pop, a 2026 collaboration between the Le Brassus haute-horlogerie house and Swatch that reimagined AP’s Royal Oak as a family of eight colorful Bioceramic pocket watches. Launched May 16, 2026, in-store only at 200 selected Swatch locations, it extended the accessible-luxury playbook Swatch established with the 2022 MoonSwatch and gave AP its first mass-market co-brand.

Origin
Swatch had proven the co-branded, mass-format concept in 2022 with the MoonSwatch — an Omega Speedmaster reimagined in Bioceramic that pulled overnight queues at Swatch stores around the world. The Royal Pop applies the same template to a second Swatch Group houseguest: Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak, one of the most iconic sport-luxury watch designs of the 20th century. Where the MoonSwatch mapped Speedmaster history onto planets, the Royal Pop pivots away from the wrist entirely, presenting the design in a neck-worn pocket watch inspired by the 1980s Swatch POP era.
The Product
Man of Many, Time4Diamonds, and BQ Watches all describe the same eight-piece lineup: Bioceramic cases in bright colors, the Royal Oak’s tapisserie-inspired dial detailing, and a swappable case-and-strap system where the watch clicks into a bioceramic attachment on a calfskin lanyard. The lineup splits between the open-face Lépine style and the hinged-cover Savonnette style; the two Savonnette pieces carry petite seconde subdials that the Lépine pieces do not. Under the case, each watch uses Swatch’s hand-wound SISTEM51 movement — the same 51-part self-assembled mechanical caliber Swatch introduced in 2013.
Commercial Success
Swatch used the MoonSwatch distribution playbook: in-store-only sales at 200 selected Swatch locations globally, one piece per person per store per day, no online orders. That drove the same viral-queue photos and reseller-market activity the MoonSwatch produced in 2022. At $400–$420, the Royal Pop sits an order of magnitude below entry-level Royal Oak references from AP, opening a Royal Oak-derived object to a first-timer audience.
Industry Impact
The Royal Pop consolidates the Swatch Group’s playbook: use Swatch to build queues, cultural attention, and first-timer entry points for its higher-end houses — Omega on the MoonSwatch, Blancpain on the Scuba Fifty Fathoms, and now Audemars Piguet, a Le Brassus independent that is not part of the Swatch Group but partnered on the Royal Pop. The move also revives the pocket-watch category for a mass audience for the first time in decades, framed by BQ Watches and Time4Diamonds as a deliberate departure from wrist-first watchmaking.
Knockoffs & Dupes
Third-party after-market strap and lanyard makers began marketing Bioceramic-style attachments for the Royal Pop within weeks of launch, echoing the MoonSwatch dupe economy on marketplace platforms.
