The Try Guys—Eugene Lee Yang, Ned Fulmer, Keith Habersberger, and Zach Kornfeld—launched on BuzzFeed in September 2014. The comedy group became known for trying activities outside their comfort zones, from wearing heels for a day to childbirth simulators.

BuzzFeed Era (2014-2018)

Viral videos like “Guys Try Labor Pain Simulation” and “The Try Guys Bake Bread Without A Recipe” accumulated tens of millions of views. The group’s willingness to be vulnerable and silly resonated with millennial audiences.

Independence

In 2018, The Try Guys left BuzzFeed to form 2nd Try LLC, maintaining creative control. They launched their own YouTube channel, podcast, and streaming series, proving creators could succeed independently.

Ned Fulmer Scandal (2022)

In September 2022, Fulmer was removed from the group after a workplace affair, creating one of YouTube’s biggest controversies. The remaining trio’s handling of the situation—transparent, professional—became a case study in crisis management.

Legacy

The Try Guys demonstrated that wholesome, personality-driven content could build sustainable businesses. Their success influenced countless “challenge” channels.
