Adventure racing is a multi-discipline endurance sport combining trail running, mountain biking, paddling, and navigation over courses ranging from 3 hours to 10+ days. The hashtag documents one of the most grueling team sports on Earth.
Format
Teams of 3-4 navigate unmarked wilderness courses using only map and compass (GPS prohibited). Disciplines include trail running, mountain biking, kayaking/canoeing, rappelling, canyoneering, and swimming. Teams must stay together and reach checkpoints in order.
Race Categories
- Sprint: 3-8 hours
- 12-hour: Single day challenge
- 24-hour: Overnight endurance test
- 48-72 hour: Multi-day regional championships
- Expedition: 5-10 days, 400+ miles (AR World Championship)
