Coach Mike Krzyzewski’s final season (2021-22) ended a 42-year Duke career that produced 5 NCAA championships and 1,202 wins (most in Division I history).
The Championships
Coach K won national titles in 1991, 1992, 2001, 2010, and 2015. The back-to-back 1991-92 titles featured Christian Laettner and “The Shot” (1992 vs Kentucky, greatest college basketball game ever).
Cameron Indoor Stadium
The Cameron Crazies (student section) became college basketball’s most iconic fanbase. Duke’s home-court advantage — with students camping in “Krzyzewskiville” for tickets — intimidated opponents for decades.
Coach K Era
Krzyzewski coached 12 national players of the year (including Grant Hill, Elton Brand, Shane Battier, Zion Williamson) and sent 80+ players to the NBA. His Olympic success (3 gold medals with Team USA) cemented his global legacy.
Duke hired former player Jon Scheyer to continue the program’s elite status.
