Google Glass was wearable AR glasses (2013-2015) that became tech industry cautionary tale. $1,500 beta “Explorer” program created entitled early adopters dubbed “Glassholes,” while privacy concerns (secret recording), social awkwardness, and limited functionality doomed consumer version. Google pivoted to enterprise (2017+), but Glass remained symbol of tech overreach and Silicon Valley hubris.
