Five women accused Louis C.K. of sexual misconduct (masturbating in front of them without consent, November 2017). He admitted it, apologized, disappeared. Lost movie deal, Netflix specials, FX show. Returned to stand-up 2018 (too soon, backlash). Continued smaller club tours, released specials independently. Won Grammy 2022 for comedy album (controversy). Career survived in reduced capacity—no mainstream TV/film, but loyal fanbase remains. Became test case for “can #MeToo-cancelled comedians come back?” Answer: Partially, but not to pre-allegations status.
