#SlavaUkraini

Ukrainian rallying cry meaning “Glory to Ukraine” that became global symbol of resistance.

Origin & Impact

Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, this traditional Ukrainian greeting became the defining slogan of resistance. Used by President Zelensky, soldiers, and supporters worldwide, it transcended language barriers. The phrase and its response “Heroiam Slava” (Glory to the Heroes) unified Ukrainian identity and global solidarity during the largest European conflict since WWII.

The hashtag accompanied millions of posts showing Ukrainian flags, fundraising efforts, and updates from the ground. It represented not just political support but a cultural movement defending democracy and sovereignty.
